I have owned the same kevlar leggings (non-alpinestars brand) for years. I bought these alpinestars for the first time as a second option and completely regret it. When I received them in the mail I could tell they were of a lower quality than my original kevlar leggings, but I liked that they felt lighter. I thought this might be a good fit for summer since kevlar is pretty heavy /hot to wear when it's warm out.Today I wore them for the first time while riding. At one point I felt my right inner lower thigh burn when I was stopped at a traffic light, but I didn't think much of it because sometimes that happens since I'm on an old harley and I'm short. What I didn't realize until I got home was that these cheap pants burned and melted on the side of my engine. See pic below. Now I realized why it hurt more than usual. Not only are these cheap trash, they are clearly not going to be very protective, which is the entire reason you'd purchase these. I'll go back to my previous brand of kevlar. At least I know they are safe. They have never burned/melted despite my thigh touching the side of the engine. These are unfortunately garbage.I will say that I have an alpinestars jacket and I love it. These leggings though, they are trash.
